Since late nineteenth century, rat and flea have stood wrongly accused as agents of transmission and historians have uncritically imposed epidemiology of modern plague on past. This work presents a study, challenging the view that Black Death was same as modern rat-based plague. It examines swiftness with which Europeans adapted to their bacillus.
